Ted Jackson, age 66 of Purcell, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2017, at the Purcell Municipal Hospital. Ted Lynn Jackson was born November 17, 1950 in Oklahoma City, 1 of 3 children born to Charles Jack and Jean Ann (Goure) Jackson. Ted was raised in Oklahoma City and attended school at Capitol Hill High School, graduating with the Class of 1969. Later that year, on July 18th, Ted married his best friend and high school sweet heart, Debra Jo Brown. They first made their home in Norman before settling west of Purcell. Together they raised 3 children, sons, Ted Jr. and Kyle, and daughter, Shauna. For over 20 years, Ted worked as a backhoe operator for Alliance Plumbing. He later returned to school, learning computer services at Mid America VO-Tech in Wayne. For the last 18 years, Ted worked as the IT Supervisor for the school. Ted’s favorite pastime was working in his vegetable garden. He was known by many as the “Pepper Man”, because of his love for growing hot peppers. Ted experimented with growing all kinds of peppers, and specialized in dehydration and grinding techniques for making hot powders. Ted was a wonderful husband and father, grandfather, uncle and a good friend. He will be dearly missed!
