Bruce Moss Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM on Monday November 13, 2023 at Southern Hills Baptist Church (8601 S. Penn)

L. Bruce Moss was welcomed into the Gates of Heaven on November 7, 2023.

The son of LB and Dorothy Moss, Bruce was born August 18th, 1951, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He started working at an incredibly young age, from selling papers on a street corner at 6yrs old, working at a service station, short order cook, repairing old refrigerators with Dean Price Sr., and on and on. Eventually he reached the age to work in the family business. He attended Capitol Hill High School Class of ’69, and was a proud Redskin.

In 1968, Bruce enlisted in the United States Army (against his mother’s wishes). After serving in Vietnam, Bruce received an honorable discharge from active duty, but the unbreakable bonds that he made with his brothers overseas still remain.

Upon returning, Bruce met the love of his life, and in 1973 he and Rita Gail were married and began their life together. Anyone that knew him was aware that some of his best days were spent racing Sprint Cars side by side with, in his words, some of the best people he had ever met. It was a community that he truly loved. He was a fierce but friendly competitor in all his endeavors. Whether in racing, competitive bass fishing, or anything he did, he always found his self towards the top of the leader board, all the while willing to help anyone that needed it.

He devoted his life providing for his ENTIRE family by operating L.B. Moss Plastering Inc. side by side with his father. Eventually he solely acquired the company, to repeat the cycle with his son. Throughout his career he developed tremendous relationships and bonds that still remain strong today.

In 1985 Bruce & Rita celebrated the birth of their son, Les. His role as a father was unparalleled, which was extended to all of Les’ friends. From coaching peewee football, all the way until his passing, his mentorship and loyalty never wavered. Hunting, fishing, and the outdoors (handed down by L.B.) were his passions, of which he loved helping and mentoring the next generation of sportsmen with his knowledge and experience.

On October 25, 2002, Bruce was beside his beloved Rita when she was called home, leaving a tremendous void, until he received his favorite title of all “PAPA”. His granddaughters, Preslee Rita & Brantlee Ann were the absolute light of his life, who he loved to spoil, take on trips, and torment just enough to toughen them up.

He was a man of absolute integrity, hard work, loyalty, love, humor, but mostly…….utter orneriness. He was the true measure of a friend with relentless support and hard-nosed accountability.
Not one day will go by, that he is not missed.

Bruce was preceded in death by his
Parents, LB & Dorothy Moss
Wife, Rita Gail Moss;
Brother, Stan Moss

He is survived by his
Son, Les Moss & wife Rachel;
Grandchildren, Preslee & Brantlee Moss
As well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.
