I'm doing a historical research and am looking for any biographical information about Class of '69 graduate Linda Shadrick. If anybody has any memories about Linda's while she was in high school or kept up with her after graduation, I'd be interested in hearing about it.

Linda Shadrick was a friend of mine at Jackson Jr. High and Capitol Hill High. She was a brilliant writer, wrote beautiful poetry, was an exceptional actress, had a wonderful sense of humor, cared about people and had lots of friends. The last time I saw her was in Aug, 1985, I had just given birth to a baby boy. When I went back in for my 6-week check up, the doctor found that I had to check back in to the hospital to have surgery to remove 2 large tumors and an ovary. I was surprised and delighted to find that Linda was my nurse (and was also a hospice worker).  It was wonderful seeing her again and catching up on each others lives after 16 years! Her current married name was Linda Lee Greene and she was expecting another baby soon. Later, I heard she had organized a group called 'The Samaritan Foundation' which moved to Guthrie, Oklahoma. Then she and some of her Samaritan students moved to Cheyenne Wyoming.  Later, I got the sad news that she had passed away March 18, 2002 of liver failure at the age of 50 while living in Eureka Springs, AR . If the information I have is correct, she had 5 children: Laura McDonough-Larkin, her twin sister Julie McDonough-Prater, Emily Johnson, Thom Duncan, and Daniel Greene. Linda left behind a mother and father, Mary and Carl Shadrick, a sister Kathleen Shadrick-Sigler and a younger brother Patrick Shadrick. She will be missed by family and friends. May she rest in peace.

I’m Glad you asked.
We dated in Jr. High, and I always wonted to someday reminisce about our school day. I can remember getting all the neighborhood kids in our old 56 station wagon and going to the Knob Hill movie theater in Capitol Hill. Linda and I would set in the balcony on the back row. I can’t remember why. We went on school outing to 6 Flags and Turner Falls. We were both in a play called “Dirty Work at the Crossroad”. We would all go down to the Dairy Queen after rehearsals. see http://www.chhs69.com/images/Jackson/jm1.jpg
Later in High School we went our separate way.
One day when I was in football practice, Coach said we have a new member on our team, He pointed over to this skinny little kid on the side lines with pads and a helmet on and said lets show him how we do thinks, but take it easy on him. We worked on the dummys and some blocking drills. After a while we all know it was Linda. She was writing a story for the school paper. We all miss her.

Tony, thanks ever so much for sharing the photos and articles. I adored Linda, Kathy, Patrick (the entire Shadrick bunch!). They were so full of life, wit and talent!

I had so much fun (even got a little teary-eyed) reminiscing about all the wonderful people from CHHS and Jackson Jr. High. It would be wonderful seeing everyone again. I feel totally blessed being fortunate enough to have experienced so many great friends and fun times! Those days may be gone, but forgotten? NEVER! As the old song goes: 'Those were the days my friend, I thought they'd never end...'

I have even been fortunate to have found some of my close friends on Facebook. Others have been impossible to find because of the name changes. I haven't given up yet. Miracles do happen...like this post from you!

God bless you and your family.

I'm the widowered husband of Linda's daughter, Laura McDonough, who passed some years ago. I'm trying to locate her relatives as I have discovered a large number of old family photos which I would like to return to her family.  I would be grateful for any and all information which might help.  Many thanks.
