William M. Woods, known as ''Mike'' to his friends and family, was born on July 6, 1951, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Mike was a 1969 graduate of Capitol Hill High School. He was employed for 23 years at the Oklahoma Department of Transportation. Mike had a wonderful smile and an infectious laugh, which he shared with everyone. While in the hospital in great pain, Mike was shown sonogram pictures of his namesake, William Wayne Price, to be born in October and he smiled that big beautiful smile we all loved. He loved family more than anything and could sit and tell stories for hours. He could scare boyfriends with a look, pull pranks with the best of them and loved with his whole heart. No matter how you came to be part of his family, whether by marriage or blood, you were and always would be ''his kid''. As an active Member of the Navy MARS (Military Affiliate Radio System) Community since 1991, Mike was a volunteer licensed amateur radio operator who helped to provide auxiliary or emergency communications to local, national and international emergency and safety organizations, when normal communications were not functioning properly due to a natural or manmade disaster. We will always remember him as N5ANG. Mike certainly had a technical side, loving anything to do with computers, photography or radio communications, but he was also a passionate and vivid writer of poetry so much so that what he saw through his eyes in photography came to life in his words through poems. Mike's love of music and his natural ability of equipment construction allowed him to record and splice music together in both tape and record formats. Mike's love of history, especially around the World War II era, was another compelling facet to the man who loved Corvairs and was passionate about the arts, which he immersed himself in through his own sights, sounds, language and feelings that made William M. Woods the beautiful person we all know, love and will always remember. Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Orvel and Alta Woods, but he leaves behind wife, Phyllis Woods of the home; children, Janelle & Harold McNutt, Brenda & Mike Battles, Coy & Lisa Price, Pam & Carl Ketner, Brian & Tami Conn, Candice & Nid Shawareb; grandchildren Angela & Christina McNutt, Landon Battles, Adaira, Abigaile & William Price, Kaitlin & Brandon Ketner, Jessica Morris, Haley & Morgan Dromgoole, Jordan, Jacob & Isabella Shawareb; brother & sister-in-law Charles & Jane Woods, with their children Andrea Maltz & Christopher Woods. Mike became a Christian in his youth and was very involved with the Baptist Church throughout his life and he knew his next home would be with his heavenly Father. He was truly loved and will be missed by all, but we can look around at the friends and family that he impacted during this lifetime and rest assured a part of him will always be with us. Funeral to be held at Smith-Turner Mortuary, 201 E. Main St., Yukon, OK 73099, on Saturday, July 24, 2010, at 10:00 a.m., with interment following at Sunny Lane Cemetery
