Darrel Madewell  - ln High School, Darrel started playing in a rock and roll band.  He loved to sing and play the bass guitar, among other instruments.  In 1987, Darrel accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, and used his musical talents playing in several Praise and Worship bands across South Oklahoma City. Most recently, he could be heard using his bass guitar talent to glorify God with his bandmates at Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Newcastle, OK.

Darrel was a man of many talents including woodworking. He built beautiful furniture, including the dining room table where his family will continue to gather.  He painted landscapes that are hung on the walls.  He loved working on and rebuilding his classic 1966 blue Mustang which is worthy of a trophy.  He loved working in the yard and tending to his KOI pond.  Darrel and the boys treasured the memories of when he was their Little League coach.

Darrel and Marquita shared a love of bowling and competed in numerous leagues over the years making many lifelong friends.  Most of all, they enjoyed spending time with their kids and grandkids where they were known as Mimi and Papa.

Darrel was loved by many for his humility, faith, dependability, and the quick wittiness that would catch you off guard when you least expected it. You were left wondering where that came from, and usually laughing right along with him.  He will be missed by anyone who was lucky enough to know him, but especially by his beloved wife and family.

Darrel is survived by his mother, Vivian Madewell; his wife of 50 years, Marquita; son, Darrel Jr., (DJ) and wife Jacky; son, Mark and wife Melissa; grandchildren, Aby and husband Blake; Zach, Gene, Genevieve, Max, Mattie, and Kai; brothers, Tom and wife Tamie, Steve and wife Terri, and brother Randy; numerous other relatives and friends.

Darrel is preceded in death by his dad, Earl Madewell, and many other cherished relatives who made a mark on his life.
